Safety Toe (Protective Toe)
A safety toe, also called a protective toe, is a cap built into the boot that the marking lists for impact and compression. Steel, alloy, composite and carbon-fiber caps all count. The marking inside the boot, with the standard and its edition year, is how you tell a rated pair from a lookalike.
