Jobsite Gear Editor
Marcus Dell
Marcus runs the comparison and trade desk at Hard Hats for Feet. The work is deliberately unglamorous: pull the maker’s own spec page for each pair, write down the toe type, the rating codes the maker states and the construction, and set the variants side by side, because one model name can cover a steel-toe, a composite-toe and a soft-toe version.
The bias is stated up front and it is about the label, not the logo: the marking inside the boot is the record, a listing is a claim, and a pair is described as rated for something only where the maker states it. Where two lines are close, the page says so and names what breaks the tie for a given trade.
He does not claim to wear-test boots and never has. The edge is per-variant matrices from maker pages, standards sourcing and freshness, plus owner reports read for recurring fit and durability patterns. He writes the head-to-heads, the boots-by-trade pages and the buying guides.
Method note
Maker pages read, variants separated, the tag checked, before any verdict.
