About · why the tag

We Read the Tag

Hard Hats for Feet is the decision-stage guide the work-boot world was missing: the part between a product page and checkout where you just want to know which toe, which rating and which pair fits your job.

Work-boot shopping is crowded with listings that mix up toe types, quote a standard in the title that the maker never states, and call a boot “rated” without saying for what. Meanwhile the answer sits printed inside the tongue of every safety boot. We built Hard Hats for Feet to read that tag out loud: which toe does this job need, which codes should I find, and does this pair actually say so?

We do not claim to wear-test boots, and we never will. What we do is read the maker’s own spec pages and listings variant by variant, summarize the published standards in plain language, and cross-check recurring fit and durability patterns in owner reports. Where a rating comes from a maker, we say “the maker states”, and we tell you to confirm it on the label inside the pair.

We are independent, we cover work boots and the gear around them, from toe types and trade-specific picks to fit, care and resoling, and we have no inventory to defend. The signature tool, Hazard Match, organizes trade and hazard inputs into protection and marking questions to verify. It is general information, never a hazard assessment: your employer’s rules and a qualified professional decide the protection you need.
