What funds the site
Hard Hats for Feet earns commissions when you buy through some of our links, and it sells original merchandise designed in-house. That is the whole model, and it funds the research. It does not decide the verdicts.

A commission cannot move a boot up the list
A higher commission cannot move a product up a list, and no brand can pay for a write-up, a placement or a score. We compare on the published method, full stop. When two pairs are close, we say so and tell you what breaks the tie for different trades. We do not manufacture a winner to sell a click.
No invented credentials, on the record
Our writers are gear researchers and editors. They hold no safety-engineering, trade or manufacturer credentials, and we never invent any. We do not claim to wear-test boots. Bylines describe what a person actually does here (reads the maker pages, compares variants, edits the fit and standards beat) and nothing they don’t. Read who they are on the team page.
Corrections & real changes
Boot lines change, standards get revised and we get things wrong sometimes. When we update a guide, the date you see reflects a real change to the page. We do not stamp a fresh year on stale work to game a feed. Spot an error? Tell us and it gets fixed, on the record.
Safety & the law
Safety content here is general information, never a hazard assessment, medical advice or legal advice. Where rules apply, such as OSHA’s footwear rule, we quote them and point you to your employer and your own jurisdiction. We never say a pair “meets” a standard: where a rating comes from a maker we say “the maker states”, and we tell you to confirm the marking and its edition year on the pair. We will not tell you a boot is safe for a hazard it does not state a rating for.
