Waterproof Membrane
A waterproof membrane is a liner sewn inside the upper, usually with taped seams, that blocks liquid water. Listings that say “waterproof” make a stronger claim than ones that say “water resistant”. No boot stays dry if water comes over the top, and membranes breathe less than untreated leather.
