How do I dry, clean and waterproof work boots?

Knock off dirt, wipe or brush the leather clean and let the boots dry at room temperature with the footbeds out, away from direct heat, which can crack leather and weaken adhesives. Condition leather per the maker’s care guide, and know that waterproofing treatments change how the upper breathes. A boot dryer with gentle air helps between shifts.
